A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of your attorney, you can include language in your will, trust, codicil or amendment specifying gifts to CSULB along with your friends and family members.

A retirement plan, such as an IRA, 401(k) or other similar account, can make an excellent gift. If your family members were named as the plan beneficiary, much value may be lost through income taxes. By designating CSULB as a beneficiary of all or part of your retirement plan (using the beneficiary form provided by your plan administrator), the full value of the gift is transferred tax-free and your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction.
A similar beneficiary designation from your life insurance can also make an excellent gift. If the value of the matured policy goes to CSULB and your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction.
